Rip it up - The musical WEST END
Hey there blog! I thought I would write a post on one of my favourite topics to talk about..
MY FAVOURITE TIME EVER!!! going to the theatre. Since I was a little girl I have always had a love for musical theatre. Growing up I used to take part in shows and act, dance and sing which is why as I have got older, I love going to watch shows that are in the west end.
Tonight I went and saw a show called Rip It Up! The main reason I originally booked to come and see this specific show is because when I was younger I was a huge fan girl of JLS. Aston obviously was the lead singer of the boy band and I was a huge little fan girl of him and JLS. I thought it would be interesting to see him in a different environment, performing different things compared to what he used to do with JLS. I saw many JLS concerts as a kid, so thought it would be interesting to see him now and compare the differences to him as an individual. He was not the only reason I booked to see this show, I got recommended to go and watch it by a few family members and I was told I would really enjoy the show! The show contains members from some of the UK's biggest boy bands of the 00's. This includes Harry Judd, Aston Merrygold and Jay McGuinness. All of their talents are put together to create a tribute to 60's music. I really enjoyed the fact that that modern day singers were put on stage and took it back to the 60's. It was extremely entertaining. I found that the show sort of took the audience through all of the different era's such as Motown Bubble-gum Britain and The Beatles.
The show is full of so much brightness, enthusiasm and energy it makes the audience feel excited and extremely entertained. The show is filled with plenty of dancing, singing and gymnastics. Throughout the entire show, the audience is made to feel like they want to sing, clap, dance and just join in all together!
All of the outfits and costumes were obviously created and thought to make sure that they fit and link in with each different era. The majority of them were very bright and out there.. very 60's! As you can see by the Rip it Up advert, it shows a lot of bright colour and it looks like it is going to be an exciting show to watch. My opinion on the show was that it did drag on for a bit, I believe that there are many other west end shows that are much better, however it was enjoyable to watch in the moment and it was a nice evening spent at the theatre in London.
