Summer trends 2019
Tie dye - This season Tie-dye has come back massively! everywhere I go or look for clothes whether its Topshop in the Intu centre or looking online on websites such ASOS or pretty little thing. I personally am not a big fan of tie-dye. This is because when I was growing I was obsessed with it and everything I owned was Tie-dye. Brands such as Dior, Prada and Stella McCartney have even used Tie-dye fabrics in recent collections.
Leotards - Leotards and bodysuits have been an ongoing trend for the past few years and have been created and designed with different prints, materials and shapes to fit in with new trends and to match the season and weather. Leotards are linked to ballet dancers. A cute bodysuit can literally be worn with anything! Brands such as Stella McCartney, Dior and Balenciaga have designed leotards and are sold in their collections.
Ruffles: Personally, not the biggest fan of ruffles! Ruffles tend to be worn when people are bored of wearing plain and simple garments. Ruffles are eye catching and enhance garments to look more interesting. Ruffles can also often be extremely pretty and flattering. Brands such as Dior, Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent have recently had garments with ruffles on as part of previous collections.
Neon - Neon and reflective clothing was huge in the 80s. Neon has had a huge comeback all over the world. From London, Paris and to New York neon clothing has become extremely popular again. High street stores and online stores especially have been selling large amounts of neon clothing. Pretty little thing had a whole range of neon clothing available. Brands such as Versace and Prada are even selling bright neon garments and shoes.
Boilersuits/ jumpsuits - A jumpsuit can often be related to army and utilitarian vibes. They can be dressed casually or dressed up. They are usually loose fitted and dressed up with belts or jewellery. I think these are really cool and really like this trend. They can be worn with heels or trainers. Brands such as Stella McCartney and Topshop are selling boilersuits.
Fringe - I have always loved a fringed garments or a fringed jacket. Fringes remind me of cowgirls and I have always loved cowgirls and the way that they look and dress. Ruffles were extremely popular in 2018 and fringe has taken over in 2019. Fringes are on everything such as bags, boots, jackets, garments and so on.
Beige - The colour beige, again I am not the biggest fan. I think the colour is very bland and tends to wash me out unless I am smothered in fake tan! However, the stone oatmeal colour is extremely popular this summer and is trending massively. The colour is very sophisticated and looks like it is often going to be expensive. Beige is huge on the catwalk especially in brands such as Burberry, Tom Ford and Balmain.
Bows - Over the last year or so, bows have been blossoming and becoming more popular. They are a cute little addition the outfit, whether they are put in your hair, jewellery or part of a garment. I think a bow in the hair is really cute and can make a huge difference on an outfit giving it some cuteness and excitement. However adding big bows to dresses and t-shirts I think can often look too much and cheap.
